HellasQCI, a project coordinated by the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology – GRNET, operating under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance, is featured in a Forbes article, titled “Quantum Computing Is Coming. Here’s What Needs To Happen First”, published online on August 12, 20024.
The article describes the need for quantum-safe communications (QCI) due to the arrival of quantum computers, which make it easy to decrypt data with the classical methods used today. The writers suggest that “many common data encryption methods will become ineffective. It is not the case of questioning if this will happen, but when.”
Then the article explains what are the steps that need to be taken in response to this development.
One of these steps is the HellasQCI project.
Nokia is working with GRNET, the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology, and the HellasQCI consortium to advance a nationwide quantum-safe network infrastructure as part of the EU’s European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI).
