HellasQCI represented by Zenon Mousmoulas, GRNET, was honoured to participate at the “Migration to Quantum-Safe Workshop” organised by ID Quantique in Vienna to discuss with highly regarded industry experts all things related to quantum-safe technology, explore state-of-the-art quantum-safe building blocks like QKD, QRNG, and PQC and learn how to combine these to deliver end-to-end quantum-safe keys while understanding its strategic value for businesses and organisations.

During his presentation titled: “Deploying HellasQCI within the EuroQCI initiative” Zenon Mousmoulas, GRNET and HellasQCI project member working on stakeholder engagement and community building highlighted the important progress being made on the HellasQCI project. At the same time, Mr. Mousmoulas had the opportunity to convene with other National QCIs such as RoNaQCI (Romania)  and other projects deploying QKD networks worldwide (Singapore, Czechia, Germany).

Important themes of the workshop included, among others, transitioning organisations to Post-Quantum Cryptography, Quantum-Safe in telecommunications, legal aspects of using QKD in regulated markets and use-cases in large scale backbone and access QKD networks in operational NREN environments based on commercial QKD systems.

Combining learning and collaboration, interactive sessions, demonstrations and panel discussions, this workshop constituted an invaluable opportunity for HellasQCI and GRNET to discover use cases for quantum-safe key distribution across different OSI layers and applications, gain insight into the status of QKD network deployments in Europe and Asia, and discuss opportunities and challenges with key project leaders.
