In the framework of HellasQCI project, coordinated by GRNET, Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) devices and optical equipment for the HellasQCI network were delivered and installed at the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.

A training and presentation session was conducted, covering the hardware and software features of the ThinkQuantum systems, the ThinkQuantum QKD technology, the supported protocols, and various configuration parameters required for the systems to operate properly. Special attention was given to optical switching.

Configuration details were presented in order for the system to operate in Software Defined Networking (SDN) mode, alternating the activation of two physical QKD links and establishing a virtual QKD link between two nodes connected via an optical switch, without being directly connected through a quantum channel.
