NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH DEMOKRITOS
NCSRD is a self-governing research organization under the supervision of the Greek Government (the biggest research centre in applied sciences and engineering in Greece).
NCSRD as one of the largest multidisciplinary research institutes in Europe will bring into the HellasQCI all the necessary expertise to support HelalsQCI in standardisation activities (Lead T3.4), dissemination activities (Lead WP6) and in technical expertise regarding quantum communications. More specifically NCSRD is member of SDOs (Cen/CENLEC FGQT and actively participated in ITU QIN group).
NCSRD will lead the dissemination, communication and exploitation activity exploiting its expertise in the domain since NCSRD (Innovation Office) and the knowledge management unit lead relevant EU projects and maintain tight relations with a large pool of industrial partners for networking, dissemination and exploitation activities.
Furthermore NCSRD has direct access to various European Quantum alliances since its Spin Off company Syndesis Ltd is member of QuIC.
Furthermore, through the OPENQKD pilot project, NCSRD team of researchers enriched their expertise with mathematical and modelling knowledge and technical expertise regarding QKD systems.
Furthermore, a new Quantum Institute in NCSRD will promote excellence in quantum communications, quantum informatics and relevant technologies at a world-class level.
The Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications of NCSRD is a leading organization in Greece for AI, IoT, 5G and computing algorithms, developing specialized software and the scientists working in RF telecommunication area with the expertise to design and characterize RF components which are necessary for the operation of many quantum devices.
NCSR-IIT Knowledge Management Unit has successfully taken part in several European and national ehealth and knowledge management projects. Within the realm of these projects ehealth and elearning platforms have been developed and hosted within NCSR premises as well as infrastructures, hospitals, end users have been established covering the broader area of Europe.
The core business and skills of the ehealth group include web services and technologies to support healthcare, EHRs, applications for home care services, IoT for supporting assistive living, information extraction from heterogeneous content for enhancement of diagnosis, biometrics and related applications and services, mobile applications, AI for health services, use of multispectral technologies for health prevention and prediction
