Wavelengths EMEA-LAT is a 3-day event organised by Nokia that aspires to bring the industry’s brightest minds together in Athens, Greece, on April 22-24, 2024.

Nokia’s latest network solutions will be shared, while numerous sessions are planned to discuss trending topics on optical networks and communications.

Dr. Ilias Papastamatiou, GRNET, Project Coordinator of the HellasQCI project that builds the National Quantum Communication Infrastructure of Greece, is set to take part in the plenary session titled “Quantum-safe Networks: Bridging Theory and Practice” on Tuesday, April 23rd. This session will discuss how Quantum Communications technologies work in theory and how they are applied in practice through Quantum Networks. It will specifically highlight the HellasQCI project’s role in developing Greece’s National Quantum Communication Infrastructure.

A state of the art proof of concept (PoC), developed by HellasQCI (GRNET, NKUA) in collaboration with Nokia, evolutionQ, and IDQ, will be revealed. This PoC demonstrates the use of Quantum Communication in a complex network with three nodes in Athens, highlighting its practical application in real-world scenarios.

Prof. George T. Kanellos, NKUA, HellasQCI Technical Coordinator  will also participate at the same day, April 23rd 2024 at the Breakout 2-Enterprises session at 14:05 – 14:25 CET (Ypsilon) presenting “The Athens PoC Quantum Secure Network”.

This event will serve as an excellent opportunity to build the HellasQCI community, engage in knowledge transfer, and finally, promote the upcoming QCI-days that will take place in Spring 2025 in Athens.
